Halekulani's history dates back to 1917, when it was a collection of guest bungalows. It turned into the Halekulani Hotel in 1981, when the Halekulani Corporation took over.The Halekulani Corporation, for its part, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui Fudosan Co. Ltd., Japan's largest real estate company.
The same company also owns the Waikiki Parc Hotel across the street from the Halekulani, so you have the option of working at either hotel.
Of course, the Halekulani remains unmatched in luxury and reputation among Honolulu hotels. Most famous is the Vera Wang Suite at the Halekulani, considered one of the world's most exclusive hotel experiences.
